에센영어(이하 "앱")는 이용자의 개인정보를 존중합니다. 본 앱은 서버가 없으며(서버리스), 학습 기록은 전부 이용자의 기기 내부에만 저장됩니다.
1. 앱이 수집하는 정보
- 앱 자체는 이름·이메일 등 개인정보를 수집하거나 외부로 전송하지 않습니다.
- 모든 학습 데이터(진도, 단어, 발음 시도, 통계, 젬 등)는 기기 로컬 저장소(sqflite)에만 저장되며 외부로 전송되지 않습니다.
2. 제3자 서비스
- Google AdMob(광고): 앱은 광고를 표시하기 위해 Google AdMob을 사용합니다. AdMob은 광고 제공·측정을 위해 광고 식별자(Advertising ID) 및 기기 정보를 수집·제3자(Google)와 공유할 수 있습니다. 자세한 내용은 Google 광고정책 및 개인정보처리방침을 따릅니다.
- 콘텐츠 다운로드: 원서/오디오북 검색·다운로드 시 Project Gutenberg(Gutendex), LibriVox, archive.org 등 공개 서비스에 네트워크 요청을 보냅니다. 이 과정에서 개인정보는 전송되지 않습니다.
- 온디바이스 AI: 음성 인식·발음 처리는 기기 내장 기능(Android)을 사용하며 기기 내에서 처리됩니다.
- Firebase Crashlytics(크래시 리포팅): 앱이 비정상 종료되면 안정성 개선을 위해 오류 스택 추적, 기기 모델·OS 버전·앱 버전, 크래시 시각이 Google로 전송됩니다. 학습 내용이나 녹음은 포함되지 않습니다.
- Firebase Analytics(사용 분석): 어떤 기능이 쓰이는지 파악하기 위한 익명 사용 통계를 수집하며, 이 과정에서 광고 식별자(Advertising ID)가 사용될 수 있습니다. EEA·영국·스위스 이용자의 경우 동의(UMP) 확인이 끝나기 전에는 수집이 비활성화되며, 동의 요건이 충족된 뒤에만 켜집니다.
3. 권한
- 마이크(RECORD_AUDIO): 발음 따라하기·표현 챌린지의 음성 인식에만 사용됩니다.
- 인터넷(INTERNET): 광고 및 원서/오디오북 다운로드에 사용됩니다.
4. 아동 개인정보
본 앱의 이용 대상 연령은 만 13세 이상이며, 광고 콘텐츠 등급은 청소년 이용가(T)로 제한됩니다. 13세 미만 아동의 개인정보를 고의로 수집하지 않습니다.
5. 데이터 보관 및 삭제
모든 학습 데이터는 기기에만 저장되므로, 앱을 삭제하면 관련 데이터도 함께 삭제됩니다.

English Essential (the "App") respects your privacy. The App is serverless — it has no backend of ours — and all learning records are stored only inside your device.
1. Information the App collects
- The App itself does not collect personal information such as your name or email, and does not transmit any externally.
- All learning data (progress, words, pronunciation attempts, statistics, gems, etc.) is stored only in local device storage (sqflite) and is never transmitted externally.
2. Third-party services
- Google AdMob (ads): the App uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect the Advertising ID and device information and share it with a third party (Google) in order to serve and measure ads. Details follow Google's advertising policies and privacy policy.
- Content download: when you search for or download books and audiobooks, network requests are made to public services such as Project Gutenberg (Gutendex), LibriVox and archive.org. No personal information is sent in the process.
- On-device AI: speech recognition and pronunciation processing use the device's built-in capabilities (Android) and are handled on the device.
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting): if the App crashes, the error stack trace, device model, OS version, app version and crash time are sent to Google to improve stability. No learning content or recordings are included.
- Firebase Analytics (usage analytics): anonymous usage statistics are collected to understand which features are used, and the Advertising ID may be used in that process. For users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, collection stays disabled until consent (UMP) has been resolved, and is enabled only once the consent requirements are met.
3. Permissions
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): used only for speech recognition in pronunciation practice and expression challenges.
- Internet (INTERNET): used for ads and for downloading books and audiobooks.
4. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over, and its ad content rating is limited to Teen (T). It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
5. Data retention and deletion
All learning data is stored on your device only, so deleting the App deletes the related data with it.
